PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Wild Cats Series is an annual conservation leadership and capacity-building program initiated to inspire, train, and connect young people interested in Nepal’s wild cats and biodiversity conservation.
Through expert-led sessions, practical learning, interactive discussions, and mentorship, participants build the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to conservation.
The program continues beyond the initial training, with participants carrying out conservation outreach in their communities and staying connected through the Wild Cats Series alumni network. To date, more than 75 individuals from across Nepal have taken part in the program.

HOW THE SERIES WORKS

Selection
Applications are reviewed and passionate individuals are selected.

Training
An intensive 3–4 day in-house training with experts, field visits, and engaging sessions.

Outreach activities
Participants return to their hometowns and conduct awareness programs, presentations, campaigns, or educational activities on wild cat conservation.
(1–3 months)

Reporting
Participants document their activities, outcomes, and lessons learned and submit their reports.
(2 weeks)

Certification
Upon successful completion of all stages, participants receive a certificate and join the Wild Cats Series alumni network.

Who can apply for the Wild Cats Series?

What is the selection process?
Selection is based on eligibility, motivation, relevant interests and the potential to apply or share the learning.
Is previous field experience required?
Not necessarily. Applicants should have a genuine interest in wildlife research and conservation.
What will participants learn?
Wild cat ecology, camera trapping, wildlife identification, field-data collection, human–wildlife coexistence and conservation communication.
Is there a participation fee?

Will participants receive a certificate?
Certificates may be provided to participants who complete all required activities.
