WILD CARE Research Grant Opportunity

WILD CARE invites application from the final year students undertaking research/project work for the partial fulfilment of their degree to apply for the research grant. The research should focus on diversity of small wild cats, documenting their threats and exploring public perspectives on small wild cat conservation. The selected applicant will receive necessary support in equipment and study design for the research period.   

Study site: Mahamai, Ilam

Eligibility: Final year undergraduate students of Zoology, Environmental Science, Forestry and other relevant natural science background.

Field work and reporting: Jan – June 2024 (6 months)

Grant Amount: NPR 25,000

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply before 15 December, 2024by sending an email to info@wildcare.org.np with:

  1. A cover letter stating your interest in wildlife, your familiarity with the area (eg. You may be local, OR have been to the place, OR know about the geography) and your plans to disseminate your research outcomes to the local community.     
  2. A short concept-note (proposed title, background, objectives, methodologies & expected outcomes)[Max. 500 words]    
  3. Letter of support from the supervisor
