Sushila C. Nepali, PhD

Dr. Sushila Chatterjee Nepali is a forester, conservation professional, researcher, and community development specialist with more than three decades of experience in natural resource management and biodiversity conservation. She holds a Ph.D. in Forestry from Tribhuvan University and an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Agriculture from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.

Her work spans community-based conservation, gender equality and social inclusion, livelihoods, conservation governance, climate change, and monitoring and evaluation. She has worked with communities, government agencies, and international organizations, contributing to conservation planning, policy development, research, and capacity building.

Her contributions to conservation and women’s empowerment have received international recognition, including the WWF US Women in Conservation Award and the Salwa Harb Award.
