Prof. Dr. John Koprowski

John Lad Koprowski is Dean and Wyoming Excellence Chair at the Haub School of Environment & Natural Resources, University of Wyoming, USA. His research focuses on community-based conservation approaches to wildlife management of everything from squirrels and voles to wolves, bears, leopards, jaguars, tigers and elephants, which involve local people in creating sustainable solutions. He employs these approaches in the USA, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, India, Nepal, China, Mongolia, Malaysia, and South Africa. John and his >60 graduate students have published more than 270 peer-reviewed papers and 7 books.  John is an elected Fellow of the AAAS, The Wildlife Society, the Explorer’s Club and the Linnean Society of London.  He received The Wildlife Society’s Aldo Leopold Memorial Award for lifetime contributions to wildlife conservation. John is President of the American Society of Mammalogists and serves as an Expert Speaker for the US Department of State.
