Sita Paudel

Sita Paudel is an environment professional with over half a decade of experience working at the intersection of people, nature, and community well-being. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies at Tribhuvan University.

Her work focuses on community engagement and grassroots approaches to biodiversity conservation. She has contributed to initiatives including the formation of community-based anti-poaching units, establishment of a community-managed pangolin conservation area, promotion of alternative livelihoods to reduce forest dependency, and establishment of women-led cooperatives to strengthen community resilience.

Sita is also actively engaged in climate awareness and advocacy, having led climate marches and outreach initiatives across Madhesh Province. She is a recipient of the Climate Action Fund from the British Council and AYON. Her work is driven by an interest in addressing environmental challenges through a gender-responsive lens and advancing inclusive, community-led approaches to conservation and resilience.
